Renowned ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi of the Edo period portrayed Horibe Yahei Kanemaru, one of the most respected members of this legendary group. At seventy-seven years old, he was the oldest of the forty-seven and participated in the historic raid to avenge his lord during the famous Ako Incident.
